Establishing a marketing team is pretty similar to having the right players for a football team. Since 2017, I’ve been helping large corporations, SMEs, start-ups and even government-related companies with their marketing strategies. It was done through the advisory services I provide. Their initial marketing state, most of them wasn’t pretty. I was referring to the initial stage of course. Despite looking great from the outside, it’s completely a different story inside. They were in a mess.
Not many are aware that building a great marketing strategy always starts with a marketing department. The department must have a proper set of talents who know their subject and role well. I’ve seen and even worked with companies that screwed this part up. They completely neglected the marketing team structure and roles within it for three years and as a result of it, they are running at a loss.
